How To Maintain Your Vehicle After A Detail.

After your vehicle gets detailed it is gleaming. You could eat off the floor mats and the paint has been waxed and it appears glossy and protected. After a couple of weeks of daily driving some light dirt appears on the drivers-side and your kids dropped some goldfish in the back seat. You're wondering how you can maintain your vehicle to rid of daily wear and tear.

How to maintain the interior of your vehicle

First off, this will not be a how to guide on how to deep-clean your vehicle. This how-to guide is aimed at maintaining your vehicle after it has been detailed and all major problems in the vehicle have been taken care of by us. First you should start by using your household vacuum to vacuum out the interior including the carpet, floor mats, and seats. If you have a crevice attachment this would be a perfect time to use it. Next take a microfiber towel and a household cleaner to wipe down all plastic, glass, and leather surfaces. Fold the towel into quarters wipe the surface down then flip the towel over to the dry side to remove any remaining moisture. For the glass make sure you wipe the windows from edges in.

How To maintain the exterior of your vehicle

For a long time people have been washing their cars the completely wrong way. Many people use items such as sponges, rags, and paper towels which scratch and damage your paint. Many people also use soaps such as dish soap and Windex which strip the clear coat of your vehicle leaving your paint less protected than before they washed it. So how do you wash your vehicle properly without buying expensive tools? First you will need a hose with a high pressure nozzle attached to it. Next you will need microfiber towels for drying the vehicle to prevent water spots such as these.

Water spots form when minerals in water dry and etch themselves onto the surface. To prevent these you either need to dry the vehicle (our option) or opt for deionized water which filters minerals from the water removing the need of drying the car. Next you will need a good quality soap. Get one from a trusted brand like Megiuars, Chemical Guys, Or Turtle Wax. After this you will need to buckets for your soapy water and non soapy water when you wash the vehicle. Make sure one of these buckets has a grit guard which helps remove dirt and debris from your wash mitt to eliminate swirls and scratches. Next you will need a microfiber wash mitt to wash the vehicle with. For the process of hand washing the car rinse the entire vehicle thoroughly first, trying to get rid of most dirt and debris on the paint. This will help make the wash step easier for you later on. Next put the correct amount of soap into one of your buckets according to the directions of the bottle on the back, then foam the bucket up with your hose. Dip your mitt into the soapy water and start washing the car top to bottom. Every panel make sure to rub your mitt into the bucket with the grit guard then dip it into the bucket with soapy water. This will help make sure your wash bucket stays clean. Make sure your movements with the mitt are always straight back and forth. Never in circles. This will help minimize swirls and scratches. After you have washed the vehicle rinse the soap off and dry the vehicle thoroughly using microfiber towels. Congrats you have safely and efficiently detailed your car!
